CUROM traces its origins close to the beginning of radio. After the firstradio stations of the world went on the air in the 1920s, a group of citizens of Curaçao met and on February 20, 1933, instituted the Curacaosche Radio Vereeniging, with the purpose of introducing Curacao to this great communication novelty called radio. Soon afterwards, CUROM (Curacaosche Radio Omroep) went on the air as one of the pioneers in the region. Since the thirties, CUROM built a solid name as a respected member of the community, with a mission of informing, educating and entertaining the listener according to the highest principles of responsible broadcasting. Our
commitment to principle and continued zeal to progress and improve have
allowed us to consistently attract the best personnel and achieve enviable
ratings. Now in our 68th year of operation, we encounter the challenges
of a new age with exciting and modern programming, state-of-the-art digital
equipment and the highest operating standards. |
